Queer/ Trans Body Love, A Yoga Class
All are welcome, but this class will center queer, trans and fat individuals. It will be a gentle yoga class, accessible to beginners. Yoga often caters to thin, white, young, cis-het women and this class will be different. It will encourage you to think deeply and curiously about your own identities by doing grounding techniques & gentle movements. It will ask practitioners to go deep within, supported by laughter, to question their own assumptions about themselves and others. Not for the light faint at heart, but definitely for those seeking spiritual community in a nourishing, loving environment. Self study, Svadyaha, is at the root of this class as are the 8 limbs of yoga. Expect some chanting, movement and deep relaxation.
Gather props: blocks (or books), a bolster (or pillows), a blanket, straps and an open heart
