Ana Anu
Come by Apple Pie

Welcome to Come By Pie!  A from-scratch apple pie baking + poetry kitchen with Ana Anu (she/they).  During our time together, we’ll craft the classic rustic treat while “talking story”.  We’ll talk about the stories, skills and traditions passed down through our lineage lines.  We’ll talk about the aspects of our lineage we want to honor and uphold as well as those we are ready to dismantle, transmute, and grow out of.  While our pies bubble in the oven and fill our kitchen with heavenly aroma, we’ll turn our stories into poems!
Ana has been baking pies since the age of 18, as part of a lineage tradition pass down.  With over a thousand pies baked and bellied, Anu will open her cabin-in-the-woods-kitchen to share the secrets of a flakey crust and simple low-sugar filling.  Anu is also a teaching poet and has authored two books of poetry, Noon (2017) and Mona Mona Mona (2019) examining women’s stories and archetypes. This course is intended as a relational alchemy practice.  Intergenerational attendees are so welcome (kiddos make for great pie bakers + poets too!).
