Blessed Ostara: Spring Equinox Ceremony + Medicines for Regeneration
Ostara is the celebration of Spring and the Vernal Equinox and brings about the start of the
astrological new year. We are moving out of the dark, cold wintery months and shifting the
balance into brighter, warmer days ahead. In many cultures, it is believed that the first day of
spring and the start of a new zodiac cycle represents the true New Year, fresh starts, and
rebirth! The Spring Equinox brings abundance, fertility, change, and new growth. As the earth
grows around us, let us bloom and manifest it’s many blessings into our own lives.
Virtual Weave Workshop:
We’ll each create a sacred container to honor and celebrate Blessed Ostara. We’ll call the
directions and learn of her origins and deeper meaning as we drop in and ground through
guided meditation and ritual. We’ll learn about herbs, crystals, and affirmations to work with, as
well as homework to continue our personal growth and regeneration.
Personal Altar:
Decorate an altar in the theme that represents spring, bright colors, eggs, plants, flowers and
seeds, bunnies or animal totems, pomegranates and candy, etc. Or any sacred objects you
wish to charge up with new energy.
Ceremony + Ritual:
You will need:
– a candle
– herb or medicine for smoke cleansing (like cedar, palo santo, mugwort, etc)
– tarot deck (optional)
– journal and pen
– 1 hard boiled egg – to decorate with symbols or messages with crayons, markers, stickers,
whatever you have. (*If you’d like, you can make a dying vat with old food scraps like avocado
and onion skins, beets, hibiscus, or just plain ol food coloring – however this is not required)
– *egg alternative – a sheet of paper or cardstock to decorate as above
– a sweet treat for yourself, chocolate, candy, fruit, or pastries
– adorn yourself & dress in florals or anything that makes you feel whimsical, lavish, divine
